Quiet Cool QC HV1000 Fan QC HV-1000 FEATURES:
The QC HV1000 Whole House Fan Moves 1,104 CFM using only 78 watts! The QUIET COOL QC hv1000 is an excellent energy saving whole house ventilation fan that is mounted to the ceiling and uses the energy equivalence of a 60 watt light bulb. The dual computer fans allow for two different air flows, 550/1100 CFM. The HV1000 by QC includes an attractive ceiling grill and is so quiet in operation that it can be installed in a bedroom. With the bedroom door closed you can enjoy privacy and individual control. This smartly engineered system can be installed almost anywhere in a ceiling or in less than 1/4 the time it takes to install a Typical whole house fan. This tandem whole house fan also comes with insulated damper doors that prevents cold air intrusion during cold weather months. The damper doors exceed California Green Building Code Section 4.507.1, which requires openings in the ceilings to be insulated to a minimum value of R-4.2. The QC HV-1000 is well insulated at R-6.8. The QC HV-1000 is 2 fans in one - (high & low speeds) FAQ's: Q: Similar and more expensive fans use a huge chunk of insulation attached to motorized doors to insulate the top of their whole house fans. Is this really necessary? A: According to Quiet Cool MFG, having R-38 insulation on top of your whole house fan is something that is over engineered, since the remainder of the attic is probably not insulated to this high R value. As stated above, CA building code only requires a minimum of R-4.3. Also, whole house fans made by other manufacturers with motorized doors may have to be repaired or replaced if the motorized doors malfunction. The QC HV-1000 uses R-6.8 insulated gravity doors to seal the fan when not in use, so there are no motorized doors to worry about. Q: I am curious if the Quiet Cool HV1000 can be installed only from below - without attic access. I live on the top floor of a condo complex with an attic above me that has appropriate venting, I'm just not sure about getting attic access above my unit. Thanks. A: You'll need to get access to the attic space in order to bring power to the unit; Other than that, it could be installed from below. QC HV-1000 Warranty: 3 Year Warranty from Quiet Cool Mfg.
