The QC4500 moves 4,534 CFM of Air and Generates Only 0.7 Sones, For An Amazingly Quiet and Efficient System. There is nothing else on the market like this! The Quiet Giant is a powerful 4534 CFM, 2 speed whole house fan. This revolutionary new product is the perfect compliment to the existing line of QC-1500 whole house fans. The Quiet Giant can be used to create a powerful, yet amazingly quiet flow of air in your home. Installed in combination with our existing QC-1500 system will give you unprecedented flexibility in designing the perfect whole house cooling solution to meet your specific needs. The Quiet Giant consist of basically two QC-2250 units with larger higher speed motors and two 6 foot flexible ducts connected to one ceiling box and one ceiling grille. The ceiling box is 16" x 38" ceiling box (O.S. dim.) which allows it to be installed without an adapter kit in attics with 24" or 16" on-center framing. There are two motor housings that are approximately 16" in diameter. The 6'long and 16" in diameter flexible ducting is attached to the back of the motor housing. The Quiet Giant is designed to be installed in a central hallway and should be used as part of a multi-fan configuration. By installing a Quiet Giant in the central hallway and installing the standard QC-1500 fans in your occupied bedrooms, you will generate the maximum air flow and desired cooling effect. The Quiet Giant whole house fans are also perfect for the homeowner that wants to replace their loud, traditional whole house fan with a much quieter whole house fan system that you can run all night. The QC-4500 fan is currently listed by the California Energy Commission.
*The dimensions of the QC4500 ceiling box is 14" x 36" x 7" high. You need 24" of clearance from the top of the ceiling joist to the bottom of the roof rafters. A QC-4500, Quiet Giant ships in one very large box. Weight - 75 lbs Case Dim 39" x 17" x 37" To properly control the Quiet Giant dual motors, we recommend using the dual switch and timer accessory (sold separately. see accessories above). Do not use variable speed control switches. The Quiet Cool fans are 100% made in the USA and come with a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Q: Do I Need 2 outlets in the attic or is one OK? A: The QC-4500 whole house fan has two motors and each motor head has a power cord with a plug. Therefore, a receptacle is needed for each plug to plug into. A typical duplex receptacle as are used in most homes is the easiest way to go. Now, if you want to switch on each motor head separately in order to have a two speed arrangement, each half of the receptacle needs to have it's own switch circuit (or remote control appliance module if you are using the X-10 remote control system). The duplex receptacle then needs to have each receptacle separated by clipping the metal tie that connects each half together. This does not mean that each receptacle needs a separate circuit from the electrical panel. One circuit can accommodate several of our fans.
